Job Summary

To maintain and improve the application landscape within the group

Key Responsibilities

  • The role includes evaluating, installing, upgrading and testing 3rd party applications and solutions and sharing ownership of these products. Working with the wider IT team, you will help to identify improvements to our processes and systems with the aim to reduce incidents and bugs for our internal customers and provide greater self-service to the user base.
  • Provide operational support across critical systems such as finance, plant hire, time recording, document management, HR, CRM and an array of closely integrated solutions such as Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Duties will include ensuring that third line support calls are managed and resolved as quickly as possible, liaising with vendors and internal IT.
  • You will also provide training on our systems for our internal teams where required.
  • This role will suit a bright and enthusiastic individual working in a career of systems analysis or application support. It will offer an opportunity to see the end to end systems project lifecycle, interacting with both end users and the supply chain.

Key Competencies

  • Background of dealing with applications and their relevant back end. Eg HR systems, CRM, SQL reporting and interrogation. Experience of solutions provided by the M365 suite of applications.
  • Good understanding of process and how to gather intelligent requirements
  • Experience deploying and implementing applications solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative environment.

Knowledge

  • General understanding of MSSQL and SQL scripting.
  • Understanding of Power Apps, Power BI and SharePoint technology
  • Knowledge of construction industry useful but not essential.
  • Knowledge of projects using mobile technologies.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and data retrieval technique
  • Familiarity with API’s and integration techniques.

Experience

  • Have previous experience of working with a multi-faceted application landscape incorporating both front and back of house applications.
  • Understand the underlying technology used within the application systems. Mainly SQL, and Office 365.
  • Be able to liaise with stakeholders to derive requirements and translate into technical solutions to be delivered by IT and the supply chain.
  • Be able to support complex user queries that may involve larger pieces of work,
  • Have delivered both process improvement and new applications into an SME including people/data migration and training.
