Sustainability

All of the activities we undertake embody our commitment to the three pillars of sustainability: people, planet, and profit.

As a business operating in a resource intensive industry, Kilnbridge has the capacity to influence and shape the future for coming generations. We understand and fully embrace our responsibility to work sustainably.

Alongside sound environmental stewardship, we make a positive impact by maximising social value, and generating economic value for our clients and our own business.

To achieve this, we have identified three long term priorities:

  • Enhancing the environment
  • Building stronger communities
  • Creating outstanding workplaces.

These priorities are enshrined in our sustainability strategy, and are used to measure our performance and progress. The delivery of our strategy is underpinned by a strong culture of health, safety and wellbeing (link).

Our core aim is to integrate sustainability into all our activities. To support this, we have aligned our strategic objectives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

Enhancing Communities

Our goal is to leave a positive legacy through the delivery of our projects and services. We want to make a difference and positively impact local communities by being a good neighbour, through charitable work and contributions and supporting local employment and economies.

Nurturing People

Kilnbridge is committed to ensuring that everyone who works with and for us returns home safely and healthy at the end of the working day. Through ‘Safety in Action’ we aim to improve both the physical as well as mental health and wellbeing of our workforce.

Kilnbridge inclusive culture will drive further progress of our vision that people feel valued, can fulfil their potential, and feel part of the organisation’s values. This culture creates a more efficient business with a motivated workforce that feels valued and respected.

Developing People

We aim to through different programmes and schemes to improve on people’s knowledge, not only our employees but also reach out and schools and children and support them to become the future educated and informed workforce for our industry.

Enhancing the Environment

We are working towards and aspiring to a better future with a lower overall impact on the environment by focusing on energy efficiency, responsible sourcing of materials, resource efficiency and waste reduction.

We pride ourselves in having led the change on our projects (and our own infrastructure) through design change, enhancing resource efficiency, supporting a circular economy and using alternative fuels as part of our net zero carbon strategy.

Economic Growth

Our value of ‘Responsibility’ is at the heart of our culture and business processes, ensuring we deliver with integrity and transparency.

It is through this approach, which drives our procurement practices, that we are able to maintain key business relations with like-minded Clients and Supply Chain partners and, as a result, ensure economic growth and a sustainable business for generations to come.
