Reactive Coating (Intumescent Paints) Systems

Intumescent paint systems provide a period of fire resistance to structural steel and concrete linings. They can be applied in several ways to meet specific project requirements and typically spray applied and, on occasion, brush or roller applied. Kilnbridge are experienced with reactive coating systems from multiple manufacturers, our team have all undergone specialist training, including third party assessment, both theoretical and practical of their competence to correctly install these systems.

It is imperative to establish the level of fire resistance required for the steelwork, consulting current legislation and structural requirements to establish a fire rating. Most commonly the fire resistance period, established in minutes of protection defined as an “R” rating, will be used to establish the most suitable system to meet the project requirements.

Non-Reactive Coatings (Cementitious Coatings)

Cementitious coating systems provide a period of fire resistance to structural steel and concrete structures. They can be applied in several ways to meet specific project requirements and are typically spray or trowel applied. These coatings are often selected for industrial and commercial buildings.

It is imperative to establish the level of fire resistance required, consulting current legislation and structural requirements to establish a fire rating. Most commonly the fire resistance period, established in minutes of protection defined as an “R” rating, will be used to establish the most suitable system to meet the project requirements.
