Fire Door Installation

Kilnbridge are third party accredited through the BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Installation Scheme. The Q-Mark scheme is acknowledged as a leading provider of third-party certification for the installation of fire doors. A fire door is a door with a fire resistance rating which is installed as part of a passive fire protection system within a building or structure to reduce the spread of fire and smoke between compartments and to enable safe egress from a building or structure in the event of a fire. It is important to note that Fire doors not only come in a series of leafs and frames, but also have different types of door ironmongery. They should always be visibly identified as fire doors with appropriate certification identification and labelling.

Fire Door Maintenance

Kilnbridge are third party accredited through the BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Maintenance Scheme and the Q-Mark scheme is acknowledged as a leading provider of third-party certification for the maintenance of fire doors. During the life of the building it’s important for the building owner to inspect and maintain the fire doors ensuring they still comply with the original certification. To ensure the continued safe operation and use of fire doors, a routine inspection and maintenance plan must be adopted to establish if the door needs attention. The operational use and frequency of use will guide the building owner or appointed responsible person to the timing of this inspection task. Under the BM TRADA Q-Mark scheme they have a large data base of testing they have themselves undertaken permitting certain repairs to timber doors.
