Health, Safety and Wellbeing
Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality and environmental management is fundamental to how we operate.
We are committed to ensuring that everyone who works with us and for us does so in an environment where risks are effectively controlled and safety is embedded throughout every aspect of our work.
Our commitment is reinforced through a comprehensive range of accreditations and memberships awarded by recognised industry bodies, providing independent assurance of the standards we uphold.
Our Integrated Management System is independently certified to BS EN ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, supporting the safe, sustainable and consistent delivery of our projects.
Our approach
Since 2015, our in-house Safety in Action programme has been delivered to all personnel. The programme promotes a culture where safety is a shared responsibility, ensuring people understand the behaviours, responsibilities and standards expected of them. It empowers individuals and teams to identify and challenge unsafe acts or conditions proactively.
We drive continuous improvement across four key pillars:
Culture
Investing in and focusing on behavioural change, leadership, workforce engagement, responsibility and accountability.
Confidence in competence
Providing safety training, resources and personal development beyond minimum industry standards.
Controls
The continual development of our management system and supporting controls through the use of technology and innovation.
Health and wellbeing
Providing the resources for medical screening, mental health support, health surveillance and wellbeing to ensure that our people are fit for work.
Safety Stand Downs
We are pleased to share this short video, which offers a glimpse into our annual Safety Stand Down process. Each year, Safety Stand Downs are carried out across all of our projects, bringing site teams together to pause, reflect and focus on health and safety.
These sessions provide a structured opportunity to review performance, share lessons learned, and openly discuss both best practice and areas for improvement. Crucially, they also allow us to address site-specific risks through targeted training, clear communication and constructive feedback, reinforcing our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety across every project.
Compliance, accreditations and standards
We operate in full compliance with all legal and industry requirements. All our project managers and supervisors hold SMSTS or SSSTS accreditation and meet Build UK’s minimum competence standards, in line with the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022.
Kilnbridge has achieved the requirements of the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) which focuses on legal compliance, safety, efficiency and environmental protection. We are also a CLOCS Champion, demonstrating our commitment to managing work-related road risk and promoting a strong road safety culture across the industry.
Furthermore, we are Gold Members of The Green Organisation, an independent international environmental group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice worldwide.
