RT5 refers to the retail space above the new Canary Wharf Crossrail Station on four of the six storeys of the new structure. This extension for the retail development at Canary Wharf required the structure to be protected in a heavy sprayed fire stopping vermiculite product chosen by the client due to its long association with high rise technologies in North America. We provided cost efficiencies and programme improvements throughout the work and the client with the finished project on time and on budget.

The location of the project meant we incurred higher than normal wind factors and with the project’s environmental requirements being particularly rigorous, Kilnbridge's fire protection unit had to ensure all locations were extensively masked and sealed to alleviate any contamination to surrounding waterways through spray drift. During the operation, we filtered all waste water through on site bowsers to ensure no slurry entered the drainage system, along with the removal of all waste from site.
