We were responsible for the delicate structural alteration package allowing the reassignment of the TV Centre building to modern requirements and standards while retaining many of the structure’s iconic features. This involved bespoke strengthening and bracing works to enable the installation of two additional floors of penthouse apartments.

The existing TV Centre building, constructed circa 1950, is Grade II listed and was comprised of a steel frame encased in concrete. The additional strengthening works merged the original structural steel rivet and cleat connections with modern welded and bolted techniques. The allowed the building to be opened up in order to house spacious modern luxury apartments within a traditional façade.
