New fleet of Mercedes-Benz trucks introduced

Kilnbridge are pleased to announce that we have acquired a brand new fleet of Mercedes-Benz Econic trucks that have been introduced to our Waste Management and K PLANT services.

The 22-strong fleet has replaced our outgoing like-for-like vehicles, offering improved safety, efficiency and fuel economy for both our drivers and other road users.

Our K PLANT Director Thomas Barrett commented “To comply with the company's high safety standards we opted for the Mercedes-Benz Econic, which is currently the benchmark in ergonomics and has a fantastic safety package including low-floor cabs and outstanding visibility.”

The key features of the trucks include the DirectVision cab, which ensures that our drivers are at the same eye-level with pedestrians and cyclists, and remote control compatibility, which assist our Waste Management operatives in loading and unloading skips and bins safely and securely.

The vehicles also feature low-floor cabs to reduce the risk of injuries entering and exiting the cab and adhere to the Euro 6 European emission standard, as reflected by the fact that thus far they have reduced fuel emissions by an average of 2-3% compared to the previous fleet.

The trucks will be used as part of Kilnbridge's K PLANT and Waste Management services, including the provision of equipment and resources to our projects and waste collection, recycling and ancillary services respectively. The safety improvements they offer to vulnerable road users in particular also underline our commitment to the FORS and CLOCS schemes.
