Kilnbridge proudly marked a victorious farewell to the Dig Deeper Adventure Race – the construction industry’s ultimate endurance challenge – by clinching the top spot in the Open Category at its 10th and final edition.
Held on Friday 3rd October in the rugged terrain of the Lake District, the event pushed competitors through five hours of fell running, mountain biking and abseiling. With over 165 participants across 41 teams, the race demanded grit, strategy and teamwork.
Kilnbridge entered two teams, one in the open category (comprising of Captain Pablo Alvarez Porcel, Alastair Courtney, Gray Morrow and Joe Tinnelly) and one in the Veterans Category (comprising of Captain Ben White, Rob Jones-Gerrard, Tom Sullivan, and Josh Hall).
The Kilnbridge Open category team secured victory with over 40km cover in 4 hours and over 1,350 metres climbed. The win marks the 5th win for Kilbridge at the event. The Kilnbridge veterans team also delivered a strong performance with a second-place finish in their category and a third-place finish overall.
The event not only showcased physical endurance but also supported charitable fundraising, with Kilnbridge raising funds for two of its chosen charities – The Anthony Nolan charity which aims to save and improve the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders and The 353 Trust, a charity that provides long-term support to injured soldiers, their families and military-related causes.
The Dig Deeper Adventure Race sees teams from across the construction industry challenging their fitness and navigation skills. As the curtain falls on event, Kilnbridge celebrates a decade of camaraderie, competition and adventure – true to the spirit of construction.
