Heathrow Airport, MSCP east phase 1
|LOCATION:||Heathrow Airport, London|
|CONTRACTOR:||Laing O’ Rourke|
|CONSULTANT:||British Airways Authority|
The new MSCP (multi-storey car park) Phase 1 at Heathrow Airport represents a significant project completed as part of BAA’s continued capital works investment programme. Kilnbridge was appointed by Laing O’Rourke to undertake the passive fire protection package for the new car park.
This included developing the design brief for the fire protection package. One particular challenge was the requirement to develop and install a specialist fire and waterproof expansion seal to provide dynamic joint protection to the building movement joints.
The final design included fire stopping measures to achieve a range of fire ratings from one to four hours, acoustic requirements, air pressure requirements and building movements as set out in the Fire Strategy and Acoustic Specification.
As a registered company on the Heathrow ID Scheme, we have a successful history of working at Heathrow Airport during its continued regeneration and expansion.
